Nothing expresses beauty and elegance the way a pre-wedding bridal portrait session does and it will be an heirloom to be treasured for years to come!
You have the dress, the shoes, the accessories, the hair, and the makeup but why wait until the wedding day to see how they all come together? Scheduling a bridal portrait shoot will give you the opportunity to see exactly how you’ll look and allows you the opportunity to make desired changes prior to the big day. Most wedding day timelines don't have much time planned for just the bride alone, so doing a pre-wedding bridal portrait session will give you more time for yourself to make more creative images. The tradition of displaying a bridal portrait at the wedding reception is still prevalent in weddings today and if you choose to display one, a pre-wedding bridal session is necessary in order to do so. Sessions may be done outdoors at one of my beautiful on-location spots or a favorite location of your choice.
Helpful tips for planning a successful Pre-Wedding Day Bridal session.
1. The lighting makes all the difference in the quality of your images when you are doing an outdoor session. You may have heard that there is a specific time of the day that is better for photos outdoors, and that is the Golden Hour time of day! The Golden Hour is the time of day before the sunsets. The Golden Hour is when you want to shoot if you’re looking for that glorious, soft, golden light in your photos. The late morning, noontime, and afternoon may seem like a good time for photos, but the light is much harsher at those times of the day because the sun is directly overhead, and eye sockets and shadows will be much darker, which is not flattering at all for faces. If you are doing an indoor session, that type of session can be scheduled at any time of the day.
2. You should have a bouquet prepared for your session. You will need something to do with your hands in most of your shots, so a bouquet definitely helps.
3. For Most sessions, I am taking some closeup detailed shots of your engagement ring and bouquet on/in your hands. You may consider having your ring cleaned and your nails done for your session.
4. Do not use makeup with SPF during a photoshoot! It will have unflattering results during a photography session when flash equipment is needed.
5. You can bring your accessories, props, and pets to your session. Please bring someone to watch the pets when we shoot you alone. Just give me a heads-up when scheduling or before your sessions on what you plan to bring.
6. What if the weather forecast calls for rain and/or very cold or very hot weather on the day of our outside session? I keep a very close look at the weather forecast for all of my upcoming outside sessions. If the forecast calls for a high chance of rain and/or very cold or very hot weather on the day of our outside session, I will contact you a few days in advance to talk about plan B. Most of the time, plan B involves picking a new date. If the forecast makes it hard for us to make a call to change our plans a few days before, we can make that call the morning of the shoot.
